Lisa, Roy & Mark spent 6 weeks training for the gruelling challenge. Hell & Back is Ireland’s largest and most popular obstacle course run. Set in the converted grounds of a stunning private farm-estate in County Wicklow, participants must complete a 10 - 15KM trail crossing rivers and lakes, climbing hills and mountains and crawling through Irish bogs and swamps. To survive, Lisa, Roy and Mark had to conquer temperamental weather conditions, the gruelling natural environment and of course the torturous man-made obstacles set out in front of them. Financial Controller Lisa Holmes said: ”Hell & Back can only be described in every-sense of the word as… ‘Hell’ but the rush we all felt when completing the circuit was truly memorable. I particularly remember parts of the course nicknamed… ‘Sniper’s Alley’, ‘Ten Foot Tessie’, ‘Thru Hell & High Water’ and of course how could anyone forget ‘Squeezy Does It’. ” Commercial Director Mark McEvoy survived the day with a few bumps and scratches but commented that whilst the event was tough going, it was a great day of high spirts and plenty of laughs. Lisa, Mark and Roy have so far helped raise just over € 3,700 for the Laura Lynn Children’s Hospice, a charity specialising in caring for children with life-limiting conditions and residential care for young adults with disabilities.
