Bartram Timbers’ Managing Director; James Bartram explained; “Having used the Jewers’ folding door on a local airfield site, I knew this was the door I wanted on my next shed. The door is simple to operate single-handed, looks great and is of excellent quality. My other buildings have 5m x 4.5m insulated roller shutters, which are of OK quality, but the Osprey folding door fills a much wider opening, with much higher quality and pro-rata the price of the shutters.” Configured in 12 leaves the door is manually operated from the inside, with each section of 6 leaves being light enough to push open and closed by one person into just 500mm of stacking space at each side. In the closed position the door panels stand completely flat and each pair of leaves is locked top and bottom with a full height lever-operated espagnolette bolt. The Osprey door is hung from a 5mm thick C-track on purpose engineered pendant hangers, which are designed to withstand the door weight, wind-loads and operational side-thrusts associated with wide-leaf folding doors. Installation took just 1 1 ⁄ 2 days……OK, the site was local and without the usual red-tape, inductions and interruptions associated with a typical main contractor project, but regardless, given a correctly prepared opening, perfect site conditions and the right tools, Jewers folding doors are simple to install. Osprey doors can be constructed up to 6m high as standard, and to unlimited width in manual configurations. Electrically operated doors can be arranged with up to 10 leaves folding to each side to suit a maximum opening size of 100m 2 .
