Door Industry Journal - Winter 2015

THE door industry journal winter 2015 Also online at: www.dijonline.co.uk WOODRITE – DIPPED AND DUNKED! Woodrite has been sharing some of its trade secrets with its customers – details of how their doors are treated to ensure they keep looking good have been explained: • Before Woodrite makes a door each board is individually dipped, ensuring every tongue and groove is treated (others just dip complete doors...). • Woodrite hand finishes at vulnerable areas under rails and other nooks and crannies. • Woodrite hand sprays each door and even flips them over to spray upside down to ensure coverage. • Woodrite bead-seals key areas against water ingress. “We’re genuinely proud of the care we take in making our doors and I’d challenge anyone to compare our doors to the rest - there is no comparison - we do more!” said Sharon Cleaver, Woodrite’s Sales Director. WOODRITE – BESPOKE SERVICE! Woodrite’s motto of “Good with Wood” has earned the company a can-do reputation. Building bespoke doors to customer designs is a key part of the Woodrite service and window features are no exception. “In the world of timber garage doors, customers tend to have a much stronger sense of what they want. It doesn’t seem much, but in adding detailing such as these custom windows to match a feature on a house, has meant the customer has exactly what they want and is delighted. It’s typical of the things we do every day at Woodrite to secure business for our distributors!” said Sharon Cleaver, Woodrite’s Sales Director. DO YOU THINK THIS GREEN DOOR WILL SELL? Woodrite’s commitment to eliminating waste has resulted in a new design of door. It utilises the offcuts of boards that would normally go to into waste. The design uses solid rails with a boarded infill that creates a striking effect. “We’re always doing new things with timber and John Brooks, our MD set us a challenge of building a door that was waste free. As it turns out, the green aspect was also a clue to the fact that the door is paint finished and can be coloured to any RAL or Farrow and Ball matched shade.” said Sharon Cleaver, Woodrite’s Sales Director. Sharon added, “we rather like the result, but before adding it to the range thought we’d ask the readers of the Door Industry Journal what they thought?” To let Woodrite know what you think, just send an email to Sharon@woodritedoors.co.uk - results next issue! 45 garage doors
