For the team at CiiLOCK Engineering, a passion for hardware design and spirited dedication to innovatively respond to market demands was the driving force behind the incredible evolution of their multi-award winning ‘Mother of All Rollers.’ From a once mere concept to now ground-breaking reality, the ‘celebrated solution’ has since opened up greater design possibilities and revolutionised the dynamics of sliding doors! “Our purpose is to help by developing new hardware technologies designed to directly address key market issues; primarily improving on performance, ease-of-use and installation,” the team says. “We pride ourselves on designing and manufacturing components of the highest quality and capacity to withstand the challenges of heavy day-to-day use.” With great experience developing component solutions for the window and door industry, CiiLOCK’s recognition of advancing energy efficient technologies and evolving architectural trends sparked concern on the supporting hardware below, highlighting the question – how can we ensure doors continue to slide smoothly and efficiently under the inflated panel weights? “It was a problem within the industry we set out to solve. With glass panels growing larger and larger, and the push for greater energy efficiency rapidly advancing, we noticed an increasing demand for heavy duty hardware capable of keeping up with the increased door capacities.” Fuelled by the motivation to create something ‘truly exceptional,’ the design journey had begun. The project, as it was internally code-named, was labelled The Mother of All Rollers. “Our aim was to create the most economic, functional and durable roller for today’s market.
