Also online at: www.dijonline.co.uk garage doors 44 THE door industry journal winter 2016 Brand New Delivery Vehicles Provide First Class Travel for SWS UK’s Products To coincide with SWS UK’s investment in new and improved bespoke packaging for SeceuroGlide, the market leading manufacturer are also introducing a fleet of brand new delivery vehicles. The seven and a half ton lorries will see SWS UK offering an elite delivery service with a strong focus on damage reduction and even better customer service. Seven metres in length, the dual sided vehicles have one rigid side and one curtain side, allowing for both pallet and loose load deliveries which will give SWS UK added flexibility when coordinating logistics. The vehicles will also be fitted with spring-lock poles and removable cross-bars which allows freight segregation, allowing the drivers to keep the more fragile freight away from the heavier products. This will greatly reduce or even completely remove the chance of damage to all products. Always looking to reduce their carbon footprint, SWS UK were keen for the new vehicles to come complete with improved green credentials which have been achieved through environmentally friendly reduced emissions and better MPG. State of the art technology... All vehicles will be fitted with surround cameras that cover the flanks of the vehicle, a dash-cam and an internal camera stored in the rear of the unit. The use of cameras will allow any damage to be monitored during the off-load process whilst aiding SWS UK in further improving their delivery service. SWS UK are delighted to announce that the new vehicles will be on the road in late December. Meet one of SWS UK’s Delivery Drivers... Peter O’Brien has been a delivery driver for over 20 years and brings a wealth of experience to the role. In addition to working for SWS UK, Peter has also been a driver for Richards Transport Ltd and now, DX Delivery Services. Despite spending 20 years on the road, Peter still thoroughly enjoys his work and told us ‘I really enjoy my job. I’m lucky enough to work alongside some great colleagues and enjoy interacting with the customers and meeting new people’. Covering the North-West, North-East and Yorkshire districts, Peter is very fortunate to work in some of the country’s most beautiful locations.
