Secured by Design is a nationally recognised UK Police flagship initiative dedicated to ‘designing out crime’, and widely regarded by homeowners, architects and specifiers as an indication of security and quality. Aluroll’s Secured by Design Elite door, which is also certified by the LPCB to LPS 1175 SR1, has always been their flagship security rated product due to its unique build features. However, installers can sometimes find it difficult to justify the associated surcharge. Aluroll’s design team has incorporated a new locking mechanism in the Classic roller garage door to achieve Secured by Design certification at no extra cost. Mark Evans, Managing Director, said: “Aluroll understands the commercial pressures our customers face and Secured by Design as standard gives our customers a competitive advantage in the marketplace”. All marketing materials have been updated to reflect the new accreditation. Email marketing@aluroll.co.uk to request download links. NEW TELECO CONTROL PANEL EXCLUSIVE TO ALUROLL CUSTOMERS Aluroll have upgraded their standard Teleco control panel to incorporate a vibration alarm and other new features as standard. These details benefit both installers and end users. As always, Aluroll’s Teleco panels have a choice of a wired or wireless safety edge as standard. Installers can now set motor limits using only the control panel via new push buttons inside, and a new safety edge exclusion mode prevents obstacles from activating the safety edge during the last 50mm of travel, providing a convenient solution for uneven floors. Key selling points within the new control panel include the standard integrated 100Db alarm, which is activated if excessive force is applied to the door. The courtesy light’s bulb has been upgraded to a powerful LED strip. Optional features now include bi-directional communication. This technology supports wall switches and handsets which allow users to determine whether their door is open or closed from inside the home. Unique GSM technology is also available. The optional plug in circuit board has a facility for a SIM card, enabling mobile phone activation so users can communicate with their door via text message. This makes it possible to provide temporary access for specific phone numbers, such as for deliveries; receive SMS notifications of an alarm being triggered; or receive a notification of when the door is due a service. Other features, including holiday mode remain part of the new panel and two key-fob handsets are still included as standard. Aluroll will continue to offer other control panel options, including the Somfy Rollixo RTS. For more information on operation and controls please contact the office on 0800 977 8975.
