In response, Teckentrup has developed “LED it shine” LED strips. The kits’ retail friendly packaging contains two strands of 2m and 1m magnetic LED strips (6m in total), a motion sensor and an infrared remote control. The strips give out 6000 lumens of light, equivalent to around 400 watts of “old fashioned light bulbs”. The kit is easy to install in around 15 minutes and draws only 72 watts of power. The magnetic LED strips “stick” to the horizontal tracks and spacer bar and after connecting to the motion sensor and power, the job is done. The garage fills with light every time you drive in. “It’s such a simple, but brilliant idea and it’s an easy add-on sale for our garage door specialist customers.” Commented Jim Rodger, Teckentrup’s Managing Director. Teckentrup’s New Brochure and Price List “Putting the customer at the centre of what we do means sharing our thinking” opened Jim Rodger, Teckentrup Door Solution’s Managing Director. “We’ve involved our garage door specialist customers in the planning and review of our new retail brochure for our Carteck insulated sectional garage door. It’s given us a great insight in how to organise the brochure to support garage door specialist sales’ people in structuring a sale when presenting to a consumer.” Added Jim. The brochure features a picture-led section telling of the Carteck features and benefits, followed by large images of each style and simple tick box arrangement that allows the chosen door configuration to be selected from a single spread of pages. A further key element is the integration of automation throughout the brochure, rather than a few pages at the back, typical of most sales literature. The concept builds on Teckentrup’s price list that is much admired for its ability to price an entire door range from a single page. The price list has increased in size to allow for larger text, a more extensive range of automation and control options and extended technical info, whilst still retaining its coveted “single page to price” approach.
