75 THE door industry journal winter 2017 WITT SENSORIC INCREASES OPTICAL SAFETY EDGES FLEXIBILITY WITT Sensoric is continuing to improve and increase the flexibility of its optical safety edge range. For many years, WITT Sensoric’s optical safety edge system (OSE), which includes a transmitter and receiver, has boasted functions including LED diagnostic of signal strength and indication of OSE activation, alongside a wide power supply range of 9 – 27 VDC. This year, their team of experts have been working on further improving their OSE technology, including creating a six-metre range version which presents greater sensitivity for lightweight garage doors, whilst still facilitating automatic gain control to allow for transverse deflection or flexing of the door. WITT Sensoric’s optical safety edges now also feature a battery mode in the standard design of 3 – 6 VDC, which allows installers to interface them with a wide range of wireless controllers. The German company, renowned for its precision, has also improved the connectivity of the sensor.
