A shortage of skilled engineers has been well-publicised in recent times, and this year alone we have increased staff by over 33%. A vital recommendation set out by Professor Dame Ann-Dowling, President of the Royal Academy of Engineering, and Malcolm Brinded, Chairman of Engineering UK, is ‘to draw on talent already in the workforce: increase skills and improve retention’ . We believe that by investing in our staff, encouraging them to better themselves and developing their skill set, RCS will profit by ensuring the succession of a strong manufacturing process. dhf’s mission is to raise standards in the industry and RCS Doors has mirrored this philosophy for almost a decade. We recently became ‘Made in Britain’ members, which celebrates British-made product and engineering. These accreditations showcase our commitment to improving the service we offer our customers. Beside RCS’ increased growth is a closer focus on our environmental responsibilities. We are increasing our attention towards not only our own environmental reach but also that of our customers, by manufacturing a range of products that increase thermal efficiency, decrease noise pollution and reduce energy costs. Earlier this year we began printing sales collateral on fully recycled paper and have increased efforts to promote a recycle savvy office environment. The current uncertainty surrounding Brexit is unavoidable. It is our belief that it may be beneficial to the manufacturing industry. We see a very real opportunity to expand into the new world marketplace with a lifting in European restrictions, and with worldwide companies looking to capitalise on a weak pound and strong British standards. RCS adheres to current CE (European Conformity) marking legislation and whether or not the validity of such conformities diminish post-Brexit, we will continue to work to these standards and beyond.
