Following a steady strengthening of sales across Scotland and northern England, Garador has also appointed James McCartney as their new Area Sales Manager. James, who is from Lanarkshire in Scotland, has a solid background in the local building trade, including time with Cheshire Mouldings and Woodturnings, Intatec bathroom, heating and plumbing and with Croydex bathroom hardware products. James will now play a key role in Garador’s plans to develop further growth across Scotland and the North of England. Garador is recognised as one of Britain’s leading garage door manufacturers with its own purpose-built factory and head office in Somerset. It offers a full range of modern and traditional garage doors and front entrance doors for every type of domestic build. Garador was established as part of Westland’s Engineers Limited in 1948, as part of a diversification strategy away from military products. Since manufacturing its first garage door in 1948, Garador has gone from strength to strength, moving to a purpose-built site in 1984 and implementing a continued investment plan to stay at the forefront of modern garage door manufacturing. Garador employees recently gave their time to cooking the best possible cakes for a coffee morning to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. The results, including some unique recipes and designs, raised £300 for the charity. The array of cakes on offer was quite incredible with everything from sweet treats like Lemon Drizzle cake through to savouries like delicious home-made sausage rolls. The staff thoroughly enjoyed the event and raised some money for such a worthwhile charity. Organiser, Garador’s George Aldred, said he was very impressed with the culinary talents of his colleagues. “It was a great morning and what could be better than eating cake for a good cause,” he said.
