These include an apprentice field engineer at APT, an apprentice fabricator at NVM Bolton Brady, and an apprentice electrical engineer at North Valley Metal. “We have a group-wide commitment to developing apprentices, as the increased demands across all the companies in the NVM Group mean we need more skilled workers,” explains NVM Group Managing Director John Seymour. “The new crop have all just started, to coincide with the commencement of their college courses, and they are already proving an excellent addition to our apprentice programme. The expansion of the programme is down to the fact that we need to build for the future by developing knowledgeable, motivated and loyal staff members who will stay with us for many years to come and keep our staff turnover rate low. “This is obviously good for us, but it’s also great for our customers – as, across the NVM Group, we are developing a solid cohort of experienced staff who have come up through the system and know our products and processes inside out, so they have the right skills for the job and are able to pass on the very best advice.” In more staff changes, Jean Hanson has joined North Valley Metal in the new position of Business Development Manager. Jean is a highly motivated and experienced professional, having previously managed the sales team at Ingersoll Rand, and is on board to develop sales to both existing and new customers. Although North Valley Metal has been the No.1 supplier to the door market since the 1960’s, it is synonymous with traditional shutter components and castings. But many customers are not aware of the wide range of products on offer, and Jean will be spreading the word about electrical motors and panels, high-speed doors, steel doors, technical products and more. Additionally, Francesca Rivia joins North Valley Metal in the role of Internal Sales Co-Ordinator. Francesca will add her experience to the internal sales team, with a remit to improve customer service, and co-ordinate customer orders with warehousing, logistics and accounts. At APT Olivia Portsmouth joins the team as Service Desk Co-Ordinator – also a new role. Olivia is an experienced call handler/helpdesk co-ordinator and will add strength to the service desk team by managing engineers, logging call-outs, and dealing with contract services.
