CGT Security has been working with Coventry Building Society, the second largest building society in the UK, for 18 months as they invest in their branch network. The building society is creating more spacious, community-focused, relaxed and friendly environments at its branches. The Society consulted its members and committed to make branches much easier to access for everyone, including people with disabilities or young families. They also needed to ensure that the new, spacious and stylish branches offered safety for their staff and customers – so CGT Security was engaged to provide physical security packages for 15 branches. CGT’s Xonar Shutters were chosen by the Society as they have been developed with a unique self-locking technology that ensures the shutter can never be left insecure. For a standard roller shutter, lifting is one of the significant vulnerabilities. Additional locks or the use of steel are conventional methods to combat this fault though these solutions leave much to be desired. Depending on the control system, a standard shutter curtain will not engage the locking mechanisms until closed. In the event of incomplete closure, any attempt to manually force the shutter open will result in compromised premises. For shutters with self-locking capability, manual force or levering with the assistance of tools such as car jacks will have little to no effect. Attempts to lift the shutter in any position will fail, no matter what position the shutter has been left in. It is impossible to leave a Xonar shutter insecure and there is no other product like it on the UK market. Find out more at www.cgtsecurity.com
