The pandemic precipitated huge activity in the home improvement sector and consumer demand for garage doors has never been higher. There’s no sacrificing quality – Woodrite uses the same tried and tested joinery skills but has changed its usual description of craftsman-built to fastman-built! Because the door is built as a panel and mounted onto a chassis, production is quicker and doors are available in an impressive 3-4 weeks dependent on delivery cycles. The quick delivery is not limited to base-coated doors, but is available across the complete range of fully-finished woodtones from light oak to slate grey. Unique cloaked chassis Chassis-built doors are available from other manufacturers, however Woodrite’s unique ‘cloaked chassis’ makes these the only doors with edge-to-edge timber and no visible chassis. The build process Woodrite only uses the highest grades of boards and selects for each door to ensure a natural spread of shades. If customers want a door that is darker or lighter, boards are chosen accordingly. All boards and rails are individually dipped in preservative before the door is constructed, ensuring full penetration of the treatment. The rails are assembled, then the boards are bonded and stapled. Once the panel is built, it is hand sprayed both upright and inverted to ensure full coverage and then baked dry. The finished panel has sealant applied to all ledges before it is riveted into the chassis and packed for shipping. Woodrite even uses a special perforated polymer wrapping to allow the wood to breathe during transit and storage.
