Bft Automation, the access control specialist, has introduced two new 24v ELI BT motors to its range of electro-mechanical underground operators. The ELI BT A35 Veloce and the ELI BT A40 – which are suited for single and multi-user domestic applications – offer a number of features which will benefit the user with increased speed and ease of installation with low voltage motors. The new models offer installers an ‘upgrade’ from the best-selling 24v ELI 250 BT, with no increase in cost price. The introduction of the ELI BT A35 V offers a brand new 24V self-locking (up to 2m per gate leaf) FAST operator. In real terms, the motor can open to 90° in 11 seconds – a first for Bft Automation in terms of the speed within this range. The enhanced range is equipped with a new encoder meaning more precise movement and easier installation without the need for magnetic limit switches – these are now optional. The link arm has also been redesigned. Whereas the previous model had a ‘bolted link’ arm, the new models benefit from a ‘drop in’ arm which operates more quickly and smoothly. Open and close stops are included. Matthew Batson from Bft Automation commented: “The 24v ELI 250 BT has served installers and end users alike for many, many years but it was due for an upgrade – we are now offering two new 24v low voltage ELI BT models. These are all about safety, fast operation, and ease of use. In addition to the new features, the new ELI BT operators can fit in the existing ELI foundation boxes and are retro- compatible with limit switches, if required. The new models are equipped with physical stops in both directions and, as standard, can operate gates up to will extend to 120°. Another great new feature is you can now use the 180° chain conversion kit – something that was not possible on the older model – to open gate leaves up to 180°”.
