Their latest venture at Hazel Court embodies advanced sustainability and smart modern living, featuring sky lounges, vibrant neon art and top-tier amenities. Fully let before launch, this development sought reliable and robust fire protection to ensure the safety of its residents. Collaborators • Architects - TP Bennett, praised for their innovative and sustainable design approach. • Fire Engineers - BB7, specialists in ensuring the highest fire safety and compliance standards. Challenge Creating a space that harmonises design-forward aesthetics with stringent fire safety standards was crucial. The open-plan layout of apartments and communal areas required a fire protection solution that offered flexibility without compromising the architectural vision. Solution After detailed discussions with Dandi and the main contractor, Antvic, Adexon’s FC120E fire curtains were selected as the ideal solution. These curtains provide 120 minutes of fire and smoke protection, effectively containing smoke and flames in the event of a fire. The customisation options enabled the fire curtains to seamlessly blend with the interior design, utilising a standard RAL colour that complemented the development’s aesthetics. Result We successfully manufactured, supplied, installed, and commissioned six bespoke FC120E fire curtains, all equipped with smoke control in accordance with EN 1634-3. Each curtain was uniquely tailored to its location’s specific dimensions and design requirements, ensuring precise and seamless integration. A feature of the project was manufacturing and installing one of the curtains that measured 6m wide and 3m high. The project exemplifies how cutting-edge fire protection can enhance safety without detracting from architectural and design goals.
